Born in the
Philippines in 1969, Benild came to Australia in 1994 and is now based in
Melbourne. He sees himself and his work as universal, and he described as
a meditation of a latitudinarian artist unveiling the reality of truth, love,
wisdom and freedom.
Set in a surreal world of colours,
designed to take the viewer past the known boundaries of reality into a
spiritual depth, where simple objects project a symbolic story that is familiar
to all. A deeply personal work that doesn’t enforcing an opinion on the viewer,
but allows them to bring their own understanding to its interpretation.
